Sometimes intentionally, sometimes unintentionally, but they often don't face any consequences because it's fiction. These parents' actions may be acceptable in the world of anime, but real life is another story. If some of these anime parents happened to be real, there's no doubt their children would be taken away from them. Here are 10 who would get their children taken away.
10/10 Kumi Yamagumonoko Paid A Price To Protect Shiki, But Abandoned Him — Kemono Jihen
Shiki Tademaru fromKemono Jihenhad a rough childhood, and he's only 13-years-old. Although he works at the Detective Agency as an employee who solves various incidents, he is a half-Arache, half-human hybrid as his mother birthed him with a human man.
However, despite Kumi wishing to protect Shiki, she acted as an experiment for her brother-in-law Akio by being paired with various other monsters to try and birth a child who could create the golden web. If child protect services caught wind of this, Shiki would have definitely been taken away on charges of child endangerment.
9/10 Saki Arima Took The Sound Out Of Kousei's Piano — Your Lie In April
The entire premise ofYour Lie in Aprilsurrounds Kousei Arima's mental issues with how he can no longer play his piano. The main reason for this is because of his mother, Saki Arima.
After his mother fell to an illness that no longer enabled her to play the piano, she forced her ideals on to Kousei so much that it made him constantly depressed. She even beat him—and the stress from it caused him to literally lose the ability to hear his own piano playing.
8/10 Saika And Ushio Gasai Locked Up Yuno And Made Her Unstable — Future Diary
By now, many people who have watchedFuture Diaryare well-aware of just how twisted Yuno Gasai is—and this is because of her parents, Saika and Ushio Gasai.
Yuno was genuinely a sweet and kindhearted girl, but her parents would frequently neglect her—the most prominent example being when they locked her in a cage and didn't feed her or give her water for a few days.
7/10 Akemi Hinazuki Frequently Neglected Kayo And Lied To Child Protective Services — Erased
Erasedhas probably the worst examples of a parenting style that is more frequent than people would hope. In the case of the Hinazuki household, Kayo was supposed to be dead from neglect from her mother, Akemi, as she was kidnapped and murdered in the past.
When Satoru travels back in time multiple times, it is shown that even if Kayo wasn't kidnapped, her mother locking her up, or even her mother's abusive boyfriend, would eventually kill her. She also lies to child protective services so they don't take Kayo away.
6/10 Hiromi Shiota Forced Nagisa To Live As Someone He Didn't Wish To Be — Assassination Classroom
Assassination Classroom deals with some dark problems other than the kids of 3-E trying to kill their teacher, Koro-sensei. This is the case with Nagisa Shiota's homelife and the reason for his feminine appearance.
It turns out his mother, Hiromi Shiota, had always wanted a boy—and because of this, she forces him to dress up like a doll and doesn't even allow him to cut his hair. Because of him dealing with her verbal abuse daily, he had even honed how to control his bloodlust, which makes him the perfect unassuming assassin.
5/10 Rasa Attempted To Take Gaara's Life Multiple Times Because He Was A Jinchuriki — Naruto Shippuden
It seems like Naruto was the only child to have wonderful parents in the world ofNaruto,but they were unfortunately killed.
However, when Gaara was small and Rasa was the Fifth Hokage, he would often enlist the help of assassins and ninja to kill his child for being a jinchuriki. This caused Gaara's twisted disposition in the early episodes and volumes of the series—as well as the signature "love" tattoo on his forehead.
Ragyo Kiryuin is the antagonist ofKill la Kill,and she's also a horrible mother. Although she thought Ryuko died and only saw Satsuki as her daughter, she not only abused her physically, but mentally—and even viewed her in a sexual way.
She also experimented on both of them when they were small and older—even going as far as to brainwash Ryuko into attacking the student council and not even telling Satsuki she had a sister.
Shou Tucker is probably the worst character inFullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and most fans can agree with that statement. As an alchemist, he loved his craft more than his 4-year-old daughter.
Nina and the family dog were transmutted into a talking chimera by her father, which goes to show how far he would go for alchemy, but not his own daughter.
2/10 Kikyo And Silva Zoldyck Put Killua Through Life-Or-Death Trials That Resulted In Him Becoming A Twisted Child — Hunter X Hunter
Killua may be a beloved character inHunter X Hunter,but that doesn't stop his backstory from being messed up. Ever since Killua was a child, he was put through various death trials since he was born.
Even before he could walk, he would go through assassin training so he could inherit the abilities of the Zoldyck family. Not only did they endanger him when he was a mere baby, but they also poisoned him so much that he is no immune to every single one.
1/10 Almost Every Parent Inflicted Mental (And Physical) Abuse On To Their Child(ren) — Fruits Basket
There's no doubt that almost every parent inFruits Basketwould have gotten their children taken away from them with everything they have done to them.
From Momiji, Yuki, Kyo, and even Isuzu, all of their mothers or fathers either abandoned them because of the Sohma family curse or slowly went insane from trying to accept them—except Yuki's mother, who willingly let Akito abuse him because Akito picked Yuki as a favorite. There's too much evidence to let any of this slide.
